Rob McGarva
Rob McGarva is a registered psychologist and a Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology. He brings nearly four decades of experience supporting children, parents, and teachers in roles that have included teacher, school counsellor, behaviour consultant, psychologist, and school district administrator. He has also taught post secondary courses for educational assistants and graduate level courses in psychological assessment.
Rob holds a degree in Education, a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, and a PhD in Educational Psychology. He has also completed a post graduate certificate in school neuropsychology.
Having grown up in a small town in Saskatchewan and spent much of his life in rural communities, Rob is especially passionate about supporting individuals and families in remote areas. His areas of interest include inclusive education, emotional regulation, and autism.
Rob takes a strengths based approach to help individuals and parents better understand their unique ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. He believes psychological assessments should do more than identify challenges. They should empower people and help uncover meaningful ways to move forward.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his family. He loves to travel and explore new places whenever he has the opportunity.
