Tara Janz, SLP
With more than 27 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, I have devoted my career to helping children build the communication skills that allow them to shine in their communities. My work is rooted in the belief that every child has unique potential, and that by empowering the people in their circle of care, we can help each child become who they are meant to be.
I provide play based therapy in homes, schools, preschools, daycares, and community spaces. I use daily routines as rich opportunities for building communication skills, always beginning with relationships because meaningful growth starts with connection. Collaboration is central to everything I do, whether I am working directly with children or coaching families, educators, and support staff to feel confident and equipped.
My advanced training includes early intervention, Autism, social communication, and augmentative and alternative communication. I am also honoured to have extensive experience supporting First Nation children through Jordan’s Principle funding, ensuring care that is culturally responsive and inclusive.
I am passionate about creating spaces where children feel safe to express themselves and where families and teams feel empowered in their journey. I live in the country with my family and enjoy spending time outdoors. That connection to the land brings a grounded, patient, and relationship focused approach to my work with children and families. Together, we build skills, foster confidence, and celebrate every voice.
