Britt Meropoulis, SLP
I’m a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 10 years of experience supporting children’s communication. I specialize in early intervention, toddler and preschool speech and language development, and providing collaborative, holistic support to families, educators, and communities.
My approach is child led, play based, and neurodiversity affirming, with a focus on building confidence and developing practical strategies that children, families, and educators can use in daily life. I have worked with Tamaca in a variety of Indigenous communities across Alberta since 2018.
My passion for this work comes from seeing how deeply communication shapes a child’s confidence, relationships, and quality of life. As both an SLP and a mom, I know how overwhelming it can feel when a child is struggling to express themselves. That’s why I’m committed to making speech and language support approachable, functional, playful, and supportive, so families feel empowered and children feel understood.
At the heart of my work are the values of connection, growth, and advocacy. I believe every child has a unique voice and deserves to be celebrated for who they are. Helping children and families find joy in communication inspires me every single day.
I work closely with children, families, and school teams using a collaborative, play based approach. My sessions are child led and neurodiversity affirming, with an emphasis on connection, confidence, and celebrating each child’s strengths. I strive to work through a culturally sensitive lens, honouring family values, traditions, and community knowledge. In supporting Indigenous communities across Alberta, I understand my role as a guest and partner, listening, respecting, and working alongside families, educators, and Elders to ensure services are meaningful, inclusive, and supportive.
Outside of work, I’m a busy mom of two young girls and married to a firefighter here in Edmonton. As a family, we love biking, running, hiking, swimming, and exploring Alberta’s incredible backyard. We have two dogs who keep us active with daily river valley walks, and when I get a quiet moment, you’ll usually find me curled up early in the morning with a coffee and a good book.
