Ten Voon You, OT

I am a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with 30 years of experience, and I am passionate about helping children move toward their full potential. I have supported children of all ages with a wide range of needs, as well as the loved ones and caregivers who make up their “village.” Through play based therapy, I have enjoyed being part of the team that helps children expand their food options, strengthen hand skills, build independence, and feel confident as students.

I believe children are our future, and that through them we see our greatest human potential. They embody hope, wonder, and joy—and that joy is contagious.

I believe in meeting people where they are. I use the Stages of Change model to understand where caregivers are at in their journey, because empowering adults ultimately benefits the children they are nurturing. Children learn best through play, and when they are having fun—without realizing they are building new brain or muscle connections—I know I am doing my job well.

Outside of work, I love being outdoors under the open sky, by the water, in the trees, or near mountain peaks. I enjoy staying active and going on beautiful walks with my dog. Even so, my husband and I often find ourselves indoors cheering on our children as they play the sports they love.
